Florence went along to the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition where she met some of the young people showing off their scientific skills and knowledge.
Sineád Brennan tells us that rescue shelters around the country say they are facing extra pressures to keep animals safe as the cold snap continues.
At the KWWSPCA in Co Kildare, extra heat lamps are being used around the clock to keep the rescue dogs warm in their beds. The cost of running them for extended periods of time, however, is a concern when budgets are tight.
And we have news from around the world too. In LA have seen ore than 100,000 people have been told to flee their homes with huge wildfires spreading.
