There were elections in Ireland and in the USA. Donald Trump returned to the White House, while we are waiting for a new government to form at home.
And that is only a small taste of what news2day covered over the past 12 months. From great explainers on everything from conflict in the Middle East to local stories featuring kids doing great things in their own communities - it made the news!
In Sport we had the Olympics and Paralympics where Team Ireland were awesome. We look back on Paris, plus sporting moments in Gaelic Games, Soccer, Rugby and lots more.
