On news2day there is always a Question of the Week, and with the General Election taking place the gang decided to ask schoolchildren to put the leaders of Fine Gael, Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil on the spot.
Press play up top as Fianna Fáil's Micheál Martin tells us his plans for the future, if he gets elected, on some of the big issues. From cost of living to healthcare, there are some very important questions asked. You can watch Simon Harris' interview from Monday's show here and Mary Lou's McDonald's answers here.
Schoolchildren from different parts of Ireland took the time to record and send in their questions for the party leaders. Well done to them and their teachers for bringing up really important issues.
The 3 leaders were all asked the following:
- St Mary's NS, Trim, Co Meath - How will a new Government improve the healthcare system?
- 5th Class, Glasnevin Educate Together NS, Dublin - What can be done to improve funding and resources for schools?
- Harold's Cross National School, Dublin - Can you help make food cheaper for people?
- Rang a 3, Scoil Mhuire Naofa, Carrigtwohill, Co Cork - What are you going to do to help the homeless people in our country and how?
- Scoil Naomh Molaise, Grange, Co Sligo - What will you do to stop young people vaping?
- 5th Class, St Laurence's NS, Greystones, Co Wicklow - What is your next step for preventing Climate Change?
- 4th Class, Breaffy NS, Ballina, Co Mayo - Why did you chose to be in the party you are in?
- 4th Class, Grange NS, Co Tipperary - What would be your Toy Show talent?
