Donald Trump has been elected US president, capping a remarkable comeback four years after he was voted out of the White House.
Mr Trump (78) is going back to the White House after defaeting Democrat Kamala Harris who replaced President Joe Biden when he withdrew from the race in July.
A lot of people stayed up very late to follow the voting. In the USA the system they use is called the Electoral College and it's different to our proportional representation system. Jackie Fox explains it all with jelly beans.
Although the US election is the main topic of discussion today, here at home, a special election took place - but the candidates weren't your average politicians and it was far from a typical campaign!
