Ireland has formally recognised the state of Palestine following a Cabinet meeting this morning. The flag was flown at Leinster house today.
Taoiseach Simon Harris has said that Ireland's recognition of the state of Palestine was about "keeping hope alive".

Thirteen-year-olds have better relationships with their parents but fewer friends than a decade ago, according to research from the Economic and Social Research Institute.
