Florence and Barry are presenting news2day this year!

The great thing about going back to school is seeing all your friends again and we think news2day are like shool friends too. And the show is back with a new presenter.

After we said goodbye and good luck to Molly at the start of the summer, Barry Gallagher has a new co-presenter. It's time to say hello to Florence Okojie from Dublin.

You can watch the show weekdays at 4.20pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.

The news show for kids will cover loads of the big stories from Ireland and around the world. It will help you understand what is going on and keep you in the know.

Florence says: "I'm thrilled to join the news2day team as the newest presenter and reporter! It's truly a full-circle moment and a dream come true to have gone from watching the show as a child in primary school to now being part of it.

Seeing the amazing reports produced over the years has made me excited about what lies ahead. News2day reaches thousands of children across the country, and I feel privileged in helping give primary schools a personal platform while also informing them about important events happening in Ireland and around the world."

Florence is 23 years old from Dublin. She went to primary school in St Marnock's National School and went to secondary school in Portmarnock Community School from 1st to 4th year but then made the move across the other side of the Liffey when she was 16 and moved to Stepaside to complete her final two years of secondary school in St Raphaela’s in Stillorgan.

The new news2day presenter studied Media & Politics in DCU and shortly after graduating in 2023, and then started working as a news reader for Spin1038. She says: "it was a great job as no day of work was ever the same! I’m very excited to make the big switch from radio to TV!

When Florence is not busy working she loves to go running or sea swimming! Plus, she loves reading and doing crosswords to relax!
