The shortlist for this year's IMRO Radio Awards have just been announced and RTÉjr Radio are up for some big prizes with four shows across three categories!
The big event takes place on 3 October and we wish all the nominees the best of luck - but we obviously think we should win all the prizes.
Station Producer Nicky Coghlan is once again delighted for the acknowledgement at the Ireland's premier audio awards.
Nicky says: "We aim to make world beating radio and podcasts for young people at RTÉjr, both by ourselves and with amazing independent writers and producers. It's a real privilege to have this work for young people recognized alongside our peers making content for a more grown-up audience."

Shortlisted in the Sustainability Category is Our Sustainable Village, a reality documentary series featuring a community in Ireland, where, inspired by the citizens assembly, the kids come together to form their own convention on climate change and work to create solutions to help their local environment and become a more sustainable village.
Lead by An Taisce Climate Ambassador Ellen Hegarty and a team of kid presenters from Cabra and the Dublin 7 area, they identified the main environmental issues and drove forward changes that are needed to make their community a healthier, greener, happier place to live, whilst also playing their part in fighting the global climate change emergency. It was produced by Michelle Connolly with funding from the IRP and Commisiún na Meán.

And we sealed two of the spots in the Drama Category as well!
Chance of a Ghost was our spooky show for Halloween 2024. Enter the world of the weird and wonderful as our intrepid investigators and Dag’s mum Sylvia (because 11-year-olds don’t drive) follow spooky leads to the likes of St Michan’s Church, inspiration for Bram Stokers’s Dracula to Kilmainham Gaol, a tourist destination haunted by Ireland’s past and all across Ireland to answer the call of the great beyond.
A word of warning: it’s not just the ghosts you need to watch out for in this series...It was Written by Dara T Higgins, and produced by Nicky Coghlan, Aoife O’Neill and Niamh McManus, the RTÉjr Radio team.

And, rounding out the nominations is the gorgeous Kozie Moles. It's a low stimulation children's podcast that helps to calm things down at any time of the day.
Each visit with the Kozie family is a calming experience, where time slows down, and we can all unwind together. Each day, we join Sam, Nana, Dad, and Cubby as they settle in somewhere new and make it their home. Kozie Moles is produced by John Mackey with funding from the IRP and Commisiún na Meán.
