Galaxy Fest is RTÉjr's first truly Interstellar podcast! We want you to jump aboard the Spectacular Irish Space Station on missions to galaxies unknown. But, before you do, it's best to introduce the crew.
This ship has some star-chasers with a difference...They are all kids, each with their own scientific speciality. So, let's meet the gang!!

Astrid is the captain of the Spectacular Irish Space Station and a natural leader. She has a real flair for physics. She sometimes finds all this outer space adventuring a little scary, but that doesn’t stop her from boldly going where no kid has gone before. Astrid sees herself as the big sister of the group, even if the others don’t always agree. So if the Universe throws up a problem with the practicalities of physics, Astrid always has the answer! (Poppy Turner delivers a calm authority as Captain Astrid.)

Eve is sharp as a tack, and just as funny to boot. An expert in biology, Eve’s inability to take things seriously can be good for crew morale, but also a little distracting at times. Rest assured though, if you ever find yourself facing a fearsome fungus, or a carnivorous cactus, Eve’s quick wit and even quicker science skills will save the day! (Adeeva Agbede brings the dry wit as Eve.)

Lennon is chemistry mad, and loves nothing more than to immerse himself in his work. This means it can be hard to get his full attention sometimes, but as he likes to say: "It’s not that I’m not listening, I’m just thinking of something more interesting!" Lennon is always up for an astronomical adventure, and if requires a carefully constructed chemical compound, Lennon leads the way! (Louis Benson has infectious enthusiasm as Lennon.)

Harper loves it when a plan comes together, almost as much as he loves astronomy! He is the Spectacular Irish Space Station’s go-to guide for all things extra terrestrial, and though his love of planning can make him sound a little bossy at times, the crew don’t mind when he keeps getting them out of space-based jams. So if you’re ever caught up in an interstellar incident, make sure you holler for Harper! (Archie Hales is the man with the plan as Harper.)

Bellhop is the Big SISS’s resident robot, a fountain of knowledge, filled with all the information we have so far gathered about the Universe. Sounds handy, right? If only they could stop getting stuck in the wrong mode on every adventure! After all, when you’re about to be eaten by a giant Venus fly trap, some culinary tips from Chef Bellhop are hardly what you need. Still though, Bellhop is key member of the crew, always on hand to dish out some advice, even if the advice is usually of the 'totally irrelevant’ kind. (Grainne Bleasdale plays Bellhop)

Tristan is a bit of a mystery. It was Tristan who initially brought the crew of the Spectacular Irish Space Station together, but they’ve heard little from him since. Is he purely motivated by a desire to push the boundaries of space travel to never before seen heights? Or is he hiding a more sneaky agenda? (Tristan Barks knocks it out of the park as his namesake Tristan.)
