The Cosy Corner on RTÉjr Radio is a place where parents and kids can tune in to relax and wind down after a busy summer morning of adventures. Every day from 12.30pm until 2pm it's the calm place to be. And we have a special treat for you this week.
Cliodhna Noonan is an early years arts specialist who creates, produces, and performs for children aged 0-6 years and those who care for them. She strongly believes in providing access to first time arts experiences audiences of all backgrounds, ability and heritage.
And so, The Cosy Corner is going to to showcase her work.

Cliodhna experimented with her own stories, creating radio versions of both Mora and the Dreamtrain. The project was funded by a bursary from the Arts Council YPCE section, and the kind and constant support of the team at Axis Theatre.
She performed them for some brilliant kids in Ballymun and Castlebar, recording their responses. And we’ve combined these responses with the original pieces to offer a wonderful insight into how kids respond to work that is kind, warm and hugely entertaining.

More about Cliodhna
She speaks seven languages and is currently artist in residence at Axis Theatre in Ballymun. She has presented her work in Cuba, Canada and Lithuania already this year! She founded Acting Up! Arts in 2009 and Grasshoppers Festival in 2019 to advocate for a new and vibrant art form in Ireland - early years theatre and storytelling. Cliodhna is an avid networker and an active member of the EU network
Cliodhna's style of storytelling poses more questions than answers. All stories are embedded in her own life experiences at home and abroad - the Silver Tree (from her time in Romania) asks about the future, Dreamtrain (from her time in Egypt) asks about what we pack to go on a journey, and Mora (from her pandemic experience in Ireland) asks about how we deal with feelings, anxiety and social interaction.
