Meet Rebecca - the star of the cool RTÉ Women's World Cup Promo

Have you seen RTÉ's cool Women's World Cup promo yet?! If you haven't, you need to press play above right now!!

It's here to tell everyone to tune in and watch the Ireland WNT make history at our first ever World Cup. It was filmed on a beach, in an arcade and even on a rooftop pitch!

There were loads of kids involved in making the promo, and here we chat to Rebecca, who stars in the video and pulled off some serious skills including a slo-mo bicycle kick!

What did you think when you first saw the ad?

It was actually very funny, because I didn't get to see the ad before it went live on TV. My Dad was watching the RTÉ 6.1 News and during the commercial break he went to make tea, looked up and said: "Hey Becks, you’re on the TV!" I was blown away by it!

How did you get to star in the promo?

I spent a whole Sunday putting together a 1 minute video showcasing my skills and explaining why I really wanted to do this. I submitted it by the 5pm deadline and got the call the following week.

And you can check out Rebecca's audition video below...

You obviously have skills - who do you play for?

I just moved from Rush Athletic FC to Shelbourne FC. (Hello to everyone at both clubs!)

Who is your favourite Irish player and why?

Ruesha Littlejohn, because we play the same position and wear the same number. She's also very funny and I was proud to wear her jersey in the ad.

How amazing is it to watch the girls in green at a World Cup?

I’ve been following the team in the buildup to the World Cup and I’m so excited for the tournament to start. If Ireland get through the group stage, my Grandad said he’ll take me to Australia!! COYGIG!!

Rebecca's World Cup Predictions

  • Who will win the World Cup? - I hope Ireland, but think USA...
  • Player of the tournament? - Alex Morgan
  • Golden Boot? - Sam Kerr
