Back at the start of June, we did what all good sequels do and we hit the road. This time packing our record bags and taking DJ For A Day live for the very first time at Bord Bia Bloom!
Hosted by two of our Homeschool Hub favourites, Emer O'Neill and Seamus the Dog, the sun was splitting the stones and everyone was ready to start the party.
Six young DJs were chosen to strut their stuff on a sunny day to a crowd of families gathered to watch, listen and dance their socks off. And the DJs did not dissapoint!
Tune in to RTÉjr Radio this Saturday (and every Saturday) at 4pm & listen back any time here!

Kicking off proceedings was the brother sister combo of Logan and Elise Kelly. Elise started the party with a banger in the form of Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles. Logan played one for all the dads in the crowd inviting them to get Thunderstruck with ACDC.
Next up was first time DJ, 7 year old Daragh. Despite admitting backstage that he was slightly nervous, you’d never know it from his performance, scratching and spinning his selections by Parry Gripp and George Ezra.
The sun continued to shine when best friends Lottie and Rosa took to the stage. Lottie (7) went with Eurovision bangers and music with a latin inflection to reflect her mum from Venezuela. Rosa, also 7, was true to herself playing Sigrid, her favourite artist of all time.
And the set was closed out by DJ Ciano who’s 11 and from Hollystown in Dublin who inspired a stage invasion as the crowd went wild. All our young DJs have a very bright future ahead of them, rain hail or shine.
And we’re doing it all again! Next Saturday we’re bringing DJ for a Day Live to the Kaleidescope Festival in Wicklow. It kicks off at 12 with a host of new DJs and 2 other huge presenters. TV and TikTok star MC and top dog DJ Seamus!
Bring your dancing shoes to the Boompaloompa stage at 12 and we’ll bring the tunes.
If you, your friends or even your whole class would like to be one of our amazing young DJs email junior@rte.ie.
