Sometimes on DJ for a day our young hosts have never done anything like it before and they are understandably a bit nervous. But, this Saturday RTÉjr Radio is in the hands of a pro! Give it up for Scarlybeat 101!
Tune in to RTÉjr Radio this Saturday (and every Saturday) at 4pm or listen back any time here!
Scarlett is in 3rd class in Lismullen National School, County Meath and her teacher, Ms Molloy, is a brilliant hula hooper. And now Scarlett and her big sister Poppy love hula hooping too!
But that’s not the only circle she’s mastered. Scarlett loves all types of music and her Grandma brought her to her first concert. She went to see Jake Carter!
She got her first set of decks from Santy when she was just 6 years old! So she’s been mastering the art of DJing (when she’s not enjoying the odd video game)
She listens to RTÉjr Radio in the morning and sometimes Lauren Laverne on BBC radio 6. But 2FM gets some love too and she loves Jenny Green. Her Dad is her biggest fan and it's easy to see why Scarlett wants to be a DJ when she grows up.
Scarlett loves singing, dancing and all sorts of sports. She sings with her school choir and at the weekends she plays Gaelic, camogie, soccer and golf.
When she’s in the car with her aunties, they like singing loudly to boppin’ new tunes. We can only imagine what they’ll be like tuning into her radio debut this Saturday at 4pm only on RTÉjr Radio.
We're always on the hunt for more DJ talent. If you're aged from 4-12 and would like to share some of your favourite songs with the nation, get in touch and we'll tell you how you can take part.
