It's Earth Day and what better way to celebrate than with a howl?
Last Year, Ecolution looked into what it would mean to rewild Ireland in two episodes. One of those episodes focused on the question of what happens when an apex predator is reintroduced into an area from which it was long extinct. The predator in question? Wolves!

But why would a wolf make a difference? This amazing animation of one piece of the episode has been created by 3 teams of animation students attending the HND in Animation at Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education. Each team applied their own unique style to a section of the audio and the final piece was woven into one.

In it, Zoologist Shane McGuiness, David Smyth of the Rewilding Ireland Twitter account and Killian McLaughlin of Wild Ireland in Donegal explain how the reintroduction of 31 Grey Wolves to Yelllowstone National Park in the Western United States in 1995 led to a vast improvement in the biodiversity and environmental health of the park.
