This week we’re going to discuss a topic close to every Irish person’s heart. It is, of course, an aimsir (the weather). It’s a hot topic in this country and no morning greeting or small-talk is complete without mentioning the incessant rain, or the hope of sunnier days. Meaning: The weather was terrible yesterday!

Meaning: I’m tired of this weather.
Tá an aimsir go hálainn inniu!
Meaning: The weather is lovely today!
3. An mbeidh an aimsir níos fearr amárach?
Meaning: Will the weather be better tomorrow?

Beidh an aimsir níos fearr amárach.
Beidh an aimsir níos measa amárach.
Beidh an teocht níos airde/níos ísle.
Meaning:
The weather will be better tomorrow.
The weather will be worse tomorrow.
The temperature will be higher/lower.
4. Tá mé préachta leis an bhfuacht.
Meaning: I am perished with the cold.
Tá mé fliuch go craiceann.
Meaning: I am soaked to the skin.
Tá mé ag cur allais.
Meaning: I am sweating.
