Clárbhainisteoir of Gaeilge 365, Dáithí de Buitléir spoke to Cormac Ó hEadhra on RTÉ Radio One about building the bilingual public services of the future.
Dáithí says Gaeilge 356 which is run by Dublin City Council looks at putting the Irish language at the core of the services they provide. He says they are 'reframing' what the Irish language looks like in the context of public services so the Irish language is the innovative hub of the public service, rather than an afterthought.
Labhair De Buitléir faoin bhfís atá ag an togra Gaeilge 365 an teanga a chur i gcroílár na seirbhisí poiblí atá á gcur ar fáil ag Comhairle Cathrach Átha Cliath. Deir sé go bhfuil an t-éileamh ar na seirbhisí seo as cuímse nuair a chuirtear seirbhís den scoth ar fáil don phobal.
Dáithí mentioned several projects Gaeilge 365 is involved with from Foraois which is building community networks through Irish to bring people together to Binsí Comhrá, park benches with a prompt to try and start a conversation with the person next to you.
Luaigh de Buitléir cúpla togra atá ar siúl ag Gaeilge 365 faoi láthair a bhfuil an-rath orthu. Deir sé go bhfuil liostaí feithimh ag Foraois- ag tógáil pobail trí Ghaeilge agus na Binsí Comhrá a théann i ngleic le fadhb an uaignis agus a spreagann daoine chun cainte.
Labhair Dáithí le Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh ar Nationwide ar RTÉ ONE faoina chuid oibre freisin. Féach air anseo.
