Tá sé éasca gan aon fheoil a ithe ar feadh míosa... nó an bhfuil? Sna ceithre chlár seo, ní hamháin go scrúdóidh seachtar rannpháirtithe ní hamháin na nósanna itheacháin atá acu, ach na gnáthnósanna, barúlacha agus tuairimí atá acu freisin. Faoi threoir scrúduithe sláinte, léargas ó shaineolaithe, ceisteanna móra agus cócaireacht chruthaitheach, fiosrófar sa tsraith seo an méid a tharlaíonn i ndáiríre nuair a bhaintear feoil den phláta.
A month without meat sounds easy… until it isn't. Across four episodes, seven contributors put not just their eating habits but their routines, assumptions and beliefs to the test. Guided by medical check-ups, expert insight, big questions and bold cooking, this series explores what really happens when meat is taken off the plate.
Episode one introduces the seven people brave enough to take on the challenge. In Belfast, Conor and Storm start full of confidence, until a "real or fake?" taste test leaves them second-guessing their senses. In Gweedore, we meet Fr. Brian who is still reeling after the recent fire that destroyed his church. He has decided to take on another test of faith by going meat-free. In Falcarragh, Manus and Caitríona bring home two pigs for slaughter, and find themselves questioning how they'll feel about their fate by the end of the challenge. In Dingle, Clare and Helena introduce us to their lives shaped by food, place and community and Helena and her husband Patrick explain how their former butcher’s shop became a B&B.
Dietician and sports nutritionist Nóra Ní Fhlannagáin lays out what might change over the month — and what will be tested along the way. But first comes the show-stopping farewell to meat: a final send-off featuring a barbecue in Donegal and a lavish Persian feast in Kerry. Then it’s day one.
Slán go Feoil, ag tosú 16 Márta ag 8.30pm, RTÉ ONE.
