IMLÉ have always made a point of fusing different genres in their music. The title TAOILLE (Tide) was chosen as it is a perfect metaphor for IMLÉ's music - something constantly shifting, flowing, and evolving.

Musically this EP sees the group blend elements of rap, dream pop, disco and trip hop to make their own distinctive sound. The new IMLÉ lineup on the EP features Conamara Singer Róisín Seoighe, Dublin Rapper James Shannon, Cork bred & Belfast based multi-instrumentalist Neil Ó Briain and IMLÉ's founder & multi-instrumentalist, Cian Mac Cárthaigh.

Collab léiriúcháin a bhí sa saothar seo idir Cian agus Léiritheoir fad-dílis do IMLÉ, Karl Odlum, seasann TAOILLE mar fhianaise ar teacht chun cinn ealaíona an ghrúpa, agus gach amhrán anseo i nGaeilge.

Tógann an EP an éisteoir ar imram aonaránach sonach, ó stíleáil trip-hop lo-fi Timpeall Arís, brí slow-jam na 1990daí Éasca agus crut disco Iodálach ar Sláinte, ach ag cloígh i gcónaí dílis don ghaol fréamhaithe IMLÉ sa teanga agus sa chultúr.

Lyrically the songs tie into personal themes of the closing of a chapter in one's life, along with pain & loss (Órga, Éasca) and and more social themes which voice frustration at social inequality and the financial pressures faced by a generation of young people in modern Ireland (Timpeall Arís, Sláinte).

Artwork for the EP was created by Kerry-based visual artist Lizardtron (Meghan Buckley) and was inspired by the music featured on the record. IMLÉ are looking forward to taking the music on a new journey when they start sharing with fans in a live setting, beginning with their launch on March 14th in The Grand Social.
