"It's a kind of a comedy drama, even though those words have been overused, but it's like the Ronseal ad in that it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's about a guy who talks to statues and our punch line is that there's no problem talking to statues, until the statues start talking back."

In fact he has a game of racket-ball, and Terry Wogan is keeping the score."

"So that's what it is. It's a bit of fun, it’s got a bit of heart and it's kind of acknowledging a bit about male behaviour and maybe male bad behaviour, but we’re also addressing, a small bit, what are the reasons behind it. Isolation has been a massive one because of COVID – but we don’t need another isolation play."

"So this is kind of a testing of the waters really and I think the Fringe Festival is the kind of safe place to do it because this isn't kind of a traditional theatre play, it's slightly left of centre."
"We’re really happy to be out in Tallaght and the Civic as well because it might get a couple of people out of the city, but also so that people around the area and Tallaght would come in and see something that's part of the Fringe Festival as well."

"There is a play that I did a few years ago and I was looking into maybe translating that into Irish, even though my Irish isn't strong at all. But even what the lads with Kneecap are doing at the moment, however we can communicate through different forms, film and so on, all the better."
"I’d hope that this play, as it’s a radio play already, can work as a play, and might be a short story or that there’s a possibility of a television show. I’m very interested in different mediums at the moment."

This could be relevant to all genders in a way, too, not just the male?
"I think so, yeah. I've always been very, very aware of who I have as directors and who I am working with so that we have a kind of a gender balance. So we definitely have a strong female voice in the room at the moment, we have a a young stage manager who's keeping an eye on things."
