Connect with culture at this year's Féile Nasc

Festival season is upon us and this year's Féile Nasc in Dublin's Marlay Park has grown legs. Evolving from its roots as a traditional Irish music festival, Féile Nasc is now offering a festival experience for families and for adults.

Féile cheoil traidisiúnta agus ceoil dúchais chlainne í Féile Nasc, a dhéanann céiliúradh ar an nasc idir an cheol, an pombal, an teanga agus an timpeallacht nádúrtha.

Féile Nasc, Sunday May 21st , while showcasing the best of local and national folk and traditional music talent, will also focus on outdoor kids activities and will give children from local schools a stage on which to perform. The children's events include a forest camp, yoga, drumming workshops and face painting all as Gaeilge. The Nasc (connection) will be celebrated on both days through performances of local musicians and artists as well as well-known national artists.

Reachtáilfear Féile Nasc 2023 ar an Domhnach an 21 Bealtaine i bPáirc Mharlaí. Ar an lá cloisfear ceol ó leithéidí Jiggy, Rónán Ó Snodaigh agus Myles O'Reilly chomh maith le ceoltóirí ó scoileanna agus eagraíochtaí áitiúla.

'Mayhem' Saturday May 20th will give a platform to a diverse range of artists performing traditional and contemporary folk music. It will cater for an adult audience with acts to cater for all ages and tastes.

The Irish Language is central to the ethos of Féile Nasc. All childrens activities operate bilingually. Artists commit to using the Irish language on stage during their performance. Conradh na Gaeilge, Cumainn Gaelacha from the various universities and local gaelscoileanna continue to support and promote our festival since its beginning in 2019. This resulted in a significant attendance from those interested in the language. Our messages across our marketing campaigns are delivered bilingually. Through this message, this has organically created a space for the Irish language to thrive with Féile Nasc.

Féile Nasc celebrates the connection between music, community and the natural environment. The festival will continue to promote sustainability and develop that message. Local vendors will use compostable packaging and locally sourced food. Those attending are encouraged to arrive on public transport or on foot. The Forest Camp will give children an opportunity to learn and interact with the natural environment in Marlay Park. The spoken word element of the festival will feature speakers from the world of nature conservation and biodiversity.
