Speaking about the latest accolade on a long list, Paul Mescal told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show about the pride he feels in his ability to speak the Irish language.
Since Paul's conversation with TG4's Caitlín Nic Aoidh on the BAFTAs red carpet went viral last week, he has become the toast of the Irish speaking community. Paul explained that his mother had gotten a text to ask Paul to speak to TG4 and he went out of his way to do so on the night.

The Oscar-nominated actor went on to say even though his Irish was a bit rusty that he's very proud to be an Irish speaker and believes it's very important to not gatekeep the language.
