Seáns and their stories: Ba mhaith linn iad a chloisteáil uaibh!

RTÉ want to examine the lives of Irish men who lived through these times, men who are aged 75+ and who all share the name Seán. We want to hear their stories, their insights and their life experiences.

Tá daonra na hÉireann ag dul in aois go síoraí seasta ó na 1980idí i leith. I ndaonáireamh 2016 feictear go raibh méadú de 102,174 daoine sa chatagóir aoise de '65 bliana agus os a chionn'.

Tá rud éigin thar a bheith suimiúil faoin dream a rugadh nuair a bhí eachtraí ar nós an Dara Cogadh Domhanda ag titim amach. Tá an domhain athruithe chomh mór sin ón a n-óige go bhfuil taithí ar an saol agus dearcadh ar an domhain go hiomlán eisceachtúil acu.

Ó bhallríocht na tíre seo i gComhphobal Eacnamaíochta na hEorpa, eisimirce forleathan, cúlaithe eacnamaíochta, athrú Uachtarán agus Rialtas, corraíl shibhialta sa Tuaisceart agus Domhnach na Fola go athruithe na mílaoise, an Tíogar Ceilteach agus ré na méan sóisialta... tá sé go léir feicithe acu.

Tyrone Productions and RTÉ want to examine the lives of Irish men who lived through these times, men who are aged 75+ and who all share the name Seán. We want to hear their stories, their insights and their life experiences. What shaped them? What do they regret? What historical event can't they forget? What do they hope for future generations?

Tá Tyrone Productions ag léiriú cláir fáisnéise nua do RTÉ Cláracha Gaeilge darbh ainm Na Seáin is Sine - agus táimid sa tóir ar na Seáin is sine sa tír le páirt a ghlacadh ann.

Má tá aithne agat ar fear darbh ainm Seán atá thar 75 bliain d'aois agus má cheapann tú go bhfuil scéal maith agus bua na cainte aige, bí i dteagamháil linn.

Tá Seáin le Gaeilge ó gach taobh den tíre uainn - fir le gaois agus le greann, atá saol simiúil caite acu agus até sásta a scéal a roinnt maraon le comhairle a thabhairt don chéad glúin eile.

Tyrone Productions are producing a new documentary for RTÉ Cláracha Gaeilge called Na Seáin is Sine (The Oldest Seáns) - and we are looking for men of a certain age called Seán to take part.

If you know a Seán aged 75 years + who has the gift of the gab and who you think would have an interesting life story and wisdom to share with the nation, please get in touch.

We would love to hear from Seáns, particularly those who speak Irish, from all across Ireland - they should be full of wit and wisdom and happy to share stories from their lives as well as able to impart some advice to younger generations

This programme is an Irish language documentary but we are interested in featuring a number of Seáns in the English language also where their stories merit inclusion.
