Last week's first episode in the brand new series. Faoi Bhláth, blew viewers away with the natural remedies and the magic of the hawthorn bush. Tonight at 7.30 on RTÉ ONE, Aedín finds out about lakeside wild flowers in a show that Ryan Tubridy called a 'beautiful post-pandemic salve'
#FaoiBhláth congratulations on a truly wonderful series. So enjoyed the first episode and looking forward to the others. Will recipes such as the violet cough syrup or hawthorn lemonade be made available anywhere?

Lovely to watch artist Úna Ní Shé working with and using plant dyes. The rest of the programme is great too. #FaoiBhláth https://t.co/Iai0bTCYwY

Faoi Bhláth is simply brilliant. Fir years I've talked about trees and plants in this very way.

This episode looks at the lakeside habitat and its wealth of wildflowers. Ireland lays claim to over 12,000 lakes, every one of which provides a home to our native wildflowers; including the Marsh Marigold, the Yellow Iris, Water Forget-me-nots and Meadowsweet.
These flowers are known all over the country by lake shores and in wet places, but how much do we know about them? Aedín Ní Thiarnaigh begins her journey as she travels to Loch Corrib, the second largest lake in Ireland, to find out more .
You can read more about Aedín, here.

She looks at some of the most commonly found wildflowers in this habitat and investigates their uses and their role in the cycle of nature. On her journey she will meet with beekeeper Paddy Finnerty at his home in the heart of Connemara to find out about the influence wildflowers have on bees in their area and on the honey they produce.
We are also introduced to Joerg Müller from Solaris Tea Botanicals who shows Aedín how to make champagne from the fragrant Meadowsweet flower.
