In the last episode of the current series of Cloch le Carn, we take a look back at the life and career of Brendan Bowyer.

Tá an oiread sin scéalta aithriste sa chlár, scéalta faoin Hucklebuck, faoin Royal Showband agus an Big Eight, faoi na Beatles, faoi agallamh sa leithreas, fiú, ach scéal amháin a léiríonn chomh cáiliúil agus bhí Brendan Bowyer ná scéal a bhainise.

"It was a fantastic occasion... the public were out en masse, it was like the time that Gay married Kathleen, and Terry married Helen, and it was a big celeb job," a deir an craoltóir, Mike Murphy.

"350 people on the invite list, but thousands thronged in the dregs of rain to come and see them get married," dar le Clódagh Bowyer, iníon le Brendan.

Ach cén chaoi ar bhuail Brendan le Stella? Insíonn Clódagh an scéal:

"My mum was only 16 when she was permitted to go to her very first dance, and so she went to Seapoint in Galway and my dad swears that he, or he always swore, that he winked at her from the stage, he spotted her from the stage."

Bliain níos déanaí, thóg Brendan an chéad chéim eile.

"He had the gall to call my mum's home at 1 am in the morning and asked for a date with my mum and, of course, they were all delighted and they set the date for the following Thursday because she had to go to Lough Derg to pray for her Leaving Cert results. And they went out on their first date to Seapoint again and that was the beginning of a three-year courtship and a 56-year relationship."

Mar aon le Clódagh Bowyer agus Mike Murphy, roinneann Seán Bán Breathnach, Paddy Cole, Eddie Sullivan, an Dr Méabh Ní Fhuartháin agus Eddie Keher a gcuid scéalta, tuairimí agus cuimhní cinn ar Brendan Bowyer.
