Commemorating man's first landing on the moon, An Post have released a special series of four stamps featuring the astronauts aboard the Apollo 11 in which the Irish word for 'moon' is spelled incorrectly.
The Irish word for moon 'gealach' is spelled 'gaelach' on two of four of the stamps released.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta's journalist Marion Ní Shúilleabháin brought the error to the attention of An Post in a tweet to which they replied with an apology and stated that arrangements had been made to ensure an error of this type wouldn't happen again.
A dhaoine uaisle in @Postvox, ní ionann #Gaelach (Irish) & #gealach (moon). #Apollo50 pic.twitter.com/t0etmqZZua

An Post's reply to Marion:
Marion, Gabhann An Post leithscéal as an earráid seo agus tá socruithe déanta le cinntiú nach dtarlóidh a leithéid d'earráid arís
