Beoir Baile: Flaitheas na hiopstairí tagtha go Conamara

Is é beoir an deoch alcólach is sine ar domhan, agus bhí breis is 200 grúdlann in Éirinn i dtús na naoú haoise déag, léiriú ar thart na nÉireannach is dóigh!

Bhuel, tá athrú tagtha ar dhéantúsaíochta na beorach le deich mbliana anuas go speisialta.  Faigheann Donncha turas ar ghrúdlann bheag Chonamara, Independent, a bhfuil naonúr de mhuintir na háite ag obair ann, ar an gclár inniu.  Casfaidh sé freisin le Rónán de Bhaldraithe, atá ag déanamh a chuid beoir féin sa bhaile agus atá ag obair sa siopa grúdlainne is mó san iarthar.

Beer is the oldest alcoholic drink in the world, and there were more than 200 breweries in Ireland at the start of the Nineteenth Century, demonstrating the Irish thirst perhaps!  The crafting of the beer has changed a lot, particularly in the last 10 years.  Today, Donncha Mac Con Iomaire gets a tour of a small brewery in Connemara, Independent, which employs nine people from the area.  He also meets Rónán de Bhaldraithe, who has been making his own beer at home, and who works in the biggest homebrew shop in the west.
