Meet the companies attending this year's Dublin Tech Summit...
Name of company: ImpressMe
Names of founders: Amit Ramdath,
Tell us about your company...
ImpressMe is a Cape Town (South Africa) based start-up that has been engineering the Uber for recruitment. We are a team of eight people, three of which are the co-founders who offer a diverse wealth of experience. Version one of our startup launched in 2014 and after learning many lessons we’ve relaunched with a substantially improved offering.
Pitch what you do in one line...
ImpressMe provides employers with access to talent in a rich, meaningful way.
What makes your company/service unique?
We’ve tapped into mobile technology to develop an expanding network of independent talent finders who become recruiters through our mobile application. Through our tech, anybody can become a talent finder.
Why are you coming to Dublin Tech Summit?
We’ve been following the lean startup principles and would love to receive feedback from the delegates and judges at DTS so that we can hone our offering. We are also seeking investors who can help us expand into Europe and North America.
What advice would you give to an early-stage start up?
Do not over-value your idea - execution is where the true value is realised. Let the market guide the product.
What advice would you give to yourselves starting out?
Your team is more important than you think. Be ruthless about who you hire, your team will make or break your company. One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel.
What are your plans for the next 12 months?
We aim to raise enough investment to execute our global expansion plan. The product will be undergoing continuous development to improve the candidate matching process, which will incorporate learning algorithms and intelligent matching.
What is the most exciting thing in tech right now?
Wearables - we can see wearables slowly replacing our very dear mobile phones devices in the near future.
Why does Dublin Tech Summit matter?
DTS offers the opportunity to exhibit and pitch which we really like. We are also looking forward to networking with the handpicked delegate and speaker line-up.
Tell us something that we need to know...
'It's actually 3.5 Degrees of Separation, Says Facebook' - ImpressMe has been engineered to harness the power of this principle to improve recruitment.
