Swipe Left! Awkward date turns sour on First Dates

One of the most awkward and rude dates in the history of First Dates. Ever!
One of the most awkward and rude dates in the history of First Dates. Ever!

A contestant on First Dates UK has shocked viewers with his atrocious behaviour towards his unlucky love match by asking his date to leave before their mains arrived.

Singles John and Greig were paired up for the latest episode of the show, but things instantly got off to a bad start when John abandoned his date and headed out for a cigarette.

After an attempt at flirting with a waiter AND French Maître d'Fred Sirieix, the 28-year-old pub landlord decided to be brutally honest with his date by bluntly telling him he didn't fancy him.

As if that wasn't hard enough to stomach,  the 35-year-old HR director was prompted to leave before his main arrived  - and he still had to foot his half of the bill. Someone give him a hug already!

To make matters worse, John had no qualms about staying on to chomp down on his steak and chips. Who said romance was dead?

Having left the table, Greig told the camera, "You've come for a blind date, you're there together to have a laugh and a giggle - don't be a d**k, see it through, buy a dessert."

Restaurant boss Fred then came to the table and asked if John "still had a good appetite" and John replied: "I've still have to have my dinner," adding, "can I eat my steak now?"

Naturally, Twitter reacted in their droves with many sticking up for Greig and condemning his date for his appalling behaviour.
