Copious cups of tea as Inis Mór hosts TedFest

Craggy Island has been brought to life once more as fans of Father Ted head to the Aran Islands this weekend.

This year's Father Ted Festival – TedFest - on Inis Mór coincides with the 25th anniversary of the death of the show's star, Dermot Morgan.

Original cast member Patrick McDonnell, who played Eoin McLove in the comedy series, will be in attendance.

TedFest will feature events like Blind Date, a Lovely Girls' Competition, comedy shows, a lip sync battle, and a Sunday night finale titled 'We made the BBC' - with attendees dressed up as their favourite BBC broadcasters.

Organisers said that Father Ted, "Ireland's best loved TV show" will be celebrated with "copious cups of tea and sandwiches, a lot of red tank-tops, nuns on the run, priests on the pull, map-cap costumes and, of course, a bishop getting a kick up the a***".

The event runs until Sunday.
