Former Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart are splitting after 14 years of marriage.
Actress Gayheart filed for divorce in Los Angeles last Friday citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents obtained by celebrity news site The Blast.
The documents show that Gayheart is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two daughters, seven-year-old Bille and six-year-old Georgia. She is also seeking spousal support.
The couple have been married for 14 years having tied the knot in 2004.
Although she has not commented on the break-up publicly, Gayheart appeared to hint at the news with an Instagram post published after the divorce papers were filed.
Along with a black and white photo of her and their children, she wrote: "Holding onto my girls tight and loving them hard today.
"So many broken hearts and shattered dreams."
Actor Dane, best known for playing Dr. Mark Sloan in Grey’s Anatomy from 2006 until his departure in 2012, said in a statement: "After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family.
"We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us. We kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time as we navigate the next phase of our lives."
