The first glimpse of Ed Sheeran's long awaited Carpool Karoake appearance has been released.

The chart-topper was spotted filming the segment for James Corden's US chat show back in February and viewers will finally get to see it when it airs next Tuesday.

The Shape of You hitmaker was snapped in Los Angeles strumming on his guitar seated next to the chat show host in a car rigged with numerous cameras.

The trailer for next week's special London show has been released and fans can expect to see Ed strumming the guitar to Castle On The Hill as well as belting out his hit Sing.

Sheeran recently revealed that he has been in contact with Corden for the past three years about doing carpool karaoke.

However did admit that he expected to get embarrassed singing his own songs and might try something a little more gangsta and dirty instead to put his front seat passenger off.

"I know the whole thing is singing to your tune, but I think I’d feel a bit awkward singing to my song. I think I just wanna put on some Biggie [Smalls]", he told Capital FM.

"Well I wanna put on something really awkward and dirty, like Biggie’s song Big Booty Hoes".

Corden brings his chat show to London next week for three special episodes, with an all-star guest line up including Tom Cruise, Harry Styles, David Beckham as well as Kit Harington.
