EastEnders fans have been told that they are set for "heartbreaking" scenes as part of the soap's upcoming fire storyline, which will "kick-start an action-packed autumn in Albert Square".
As previously reported, the Slater clan will become trapped in the fire, which will be started deliberately and leave at least one character with life-threatening injuries.
A source told The Daily Star: "The fire isn't a big stunt; it's more about what happens in the aftermath.
"It's going to be heartbreaking as the scenes play out. There was lots of screaming and crying when we filmed the fire episodes."
As to who starts the fire, the source said: "Everyone will be shocked when they discover who it is."
They added: "The arsonist will have to live with the consequences of his or her actions for the rest of their life."
