Coronation Street actor John Michie has said his dream role would be playing Sir Alex Ferguson.
Michie, who plays Karl Munro on the ITV soap, stated to BBC Radio 2 listeners that playing the outgoing Manchester United manager would be the highlight of his career.
Talking about a possible film depicting Ferguson's life, Michie explained "My name popped up a few times. I know he's a massive Corrie fan, as is his wife Cathy. That would be a dream role".
The Daily Mail recently reported that a film had already been suggested and was in the works. They led with a table of bookies' odds on who would play the iconic manager. David Tennant and Michael Sheen were top names in the hat, followed by Dougray Scott and Ewan McGregor.
