Brooke Vincent has reportedly been given a pay rise in return for signing on the dotted line to continue her role on Coronation Street.

The actress, who turns 21 this week, has played the role of Sophie Webster for nine years and Corrie boss Stuart Blackburn wants to keep her on the cobbles.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that Blackburn has given the actress a pay rise and quotes a source close to the production saying: "Stuart was desperate to keep her and wasted no time getting her to sign a new deal. He's given her a pay rise and promised her some big storylines over the next few months".

The  source continues: "She is part of one of the Street's most established families and Sophie is Weatherfield's first lesbian character."

"Brooke is always so bubbly and sweet. There's never any diva-like behaviour from her. That was one of the reasons Stuart was not going to let her go."

In an interview in today's Sunday Mirror, Vincent talks about turning 21 and her long-term relationship with Chelsea footballer, Josh McEachran, but insists she has no interest in settling down and getting married. Vincent also talked about her Twitter habit, saying that if she receives negativity she always responds and is constantly defending her former on-screen sister, Helen Flanagan.
