Glee - Nationals

The New Directions finally won Nationals
The New Directions finally won Nationals

It was all about winning Nationals, guest appearances from Lindsay Lohan and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, the return of Carmen (Whoopi Goldberg) and Rachel Berrys heartfelt solo on this week’s episode of Glee.

With just one episode left in the third series, fans can rest assured that they will no longer have to wave goodbye to Glee favourites Rachel Berry, Finn Hudson and Kurt Hummel, as it was announced today that Ryan Murphy has decided not to axe the regulars from the hit TV show (phew!).

It was heartbreaking watching Mr Scheuster as he grew increasingly concerned that the New Directions may not take home the Nationals crown before graduation. Although we always knew that he was more than just a super singing coach, Mr Scheuster showed that he really does care about the singing crew. It was almost like watching a parent fretting about their child on the first day of school. It was a nice touch went the students presented him with the Teacher of the Year award. He truly did deserve it!

Mr Scheuster's true colours showed in this episode

I adored Mercedes, Tina, Santana and Quinn’s cover of Lady Gaga’s Edge of Glory. The song may have been a little predictable, but it was packed full of energy and some slick dance moves. However, it was Rachel’s rendition of Celine Dion’s hit It’s All Coming Back to Me Now that stole the show. It was uncanny how much Rachel sounded like the singing diva. It was by far her best performance to date. She may have choked up on front of Carmen, but Ms Berry proved that she was (and will) always be the star of the show.

Rachel Berry stole the show with her sensational rendition of It's All Coming Back to Me Now

The whole team really rocked the stage during their performance of Meat Loaf’s Paradise by the Dashlight. Even Carmen couldn’t hold back her delight, as she gave one of the loudest wolf whistles known to mankind. I was pleasantly surprised when Jesse St. James told Carmen that Rachel was spectacular. It was so sweet and thoughtful. I am now know extremely intrigued to know what would have happened if the pair had stayed together.

Lindsay Lohan, Perez Hilton and a local politician played by Lloyd from Entourage/the guidance counsellor on Suburgatory made a nice addition to the show. Surprisingly, Lohan provided a few giggles and witty gags during her cameo. She even managed to pick-fun at herself, claiming that she only participated in Nationals because she thought it was televised.

Lindsay Lohan make a nice little addition to the show

I thoroughly enjoyed the Unique storyline and love her diva ways. It looks like she may be set to transfer to McKinley High for the upcoming new series (how exciting!). The dance moves during her rendition of Starships were unbelievable. Overall, it really was an incredible routine.

The New Directions finally got the victory they deserved

With just one episode left until series three comes to a close, I suspect that I may become just a little emotional as Rachel , Finn and Kurt graduate next week

Here’s to hoping that they cover Green Days Time of your Life.
