If I had a euro for every time the green eyed monster reared its ugly head in last night’s episode of 'Raw', I would be one very rich woman by now. Not only did Geoff completely embarrass himself with his erratic behaviour and miserable attempt at getting Paval to fancy him again, but Ray also proved to step his flirt-o-meter up a gear in the hopes of impressing Fiona. With Bobby out of the question, you would think that all the romantic dilemmas would come to standstill, but let me tell you they are just getting started.
After Jojo’s proposal to Dylan last week, the reality of her spontaneous decision quickly began to sink in when her excited fiancé presented her with a sparkly engagement ring in a light bulb box (as you do). As Jojo’s mother started to talk about wedding dresses and Ellen about making the invitations, an extremely overwhelmed Jojo began to form a premature case of cold feet. To be honest, I quite liked Shane’s idea of a Vegas wedding, I can only imagine what kind of mischief Ray would cause in the casinos.
In what is becoming a reoccurring habit at this stage, Geoff once again spotted the handsome Dr Jack and his ex-flame Paval sauntering down the street gazing lovingly into each others eyes. As the lovebirds engaged in a passionate kiss, poor Geoff looked heartbroken, and so he decided to visit the psychiatrist that Ray recommended. But when emotional issues that happened prior to the attack were brought to the fore, Geoff found the truth too hard to handle and made a quick exit.
At long last Fiona managed (well just about) to take a well deserved break from the restaurant to go on a date with Conor, a friend of a friend. Not surprisingly, a rather inquisitive Ray started to dish out the advice and tried to convince Fiona (and himself), that it was a great idea that she was putting herself back on the market. Following some flirty banter at the wine tasting event and some intense eye gazes, the pair were inspired to create a new event at 'Raw': A half-price restaurant night on a Monday for other restaurant staff in Dublin.
With Geoff on board everything appeared to be going swimmingly, and so the little Ray of sunshine and his recently developed ‘sports injuries’ decided to take Fiona on a field trip to his old restaurant to thieve some extra pots and pans (and he wonders why there are dodgy blacked out cars chasing him!). Just as Geoff gets a much needed ego boost from all the other restaurant workers in Dublin, his bubble was soon burst when bookings started to be cancelled by the dozen.
Of course, it had to be a bitter Kate who was the cause of all the troubles, as she redirected all of 'Raw’s potential customers to McTeagues offering food at even cheaper prices (can this girl do anything without stealing?). Not only did she end up stepping on her sister's toes, who soon figured out that Ray has actually sacked her, but Kate ended up ruining what little respect that Shane had left for her (which in fairness wasn’t a lot since he spotted her with Larry). Thankfully, the thoughts of Shane being Dylan’s best man distracted him and he didn’t dwell on the situation for long.
As the restaurant night in McTeagues continued to get underway, Ellen began to put two-and-two together about why Bobby had left, and questioned Jojo about his disappearance. However, Jojo appeared to be too mesmerized by her new vintage engagement ring to even bat an eyelid. Will she ever feel so consumed with guilt that she will tell Dylan about her fling with Bobby?
Just when it looked like Geoff was starting to pull himself together and control his outbursts, out he pops to ruin Paval’s surprise about the jazz concert, and to make matters worse he threw a few digs at the stunned Dr Jack. Meanwhile, things seemed to be getting hot and steamy in the kitchen between Ray and Fiona (who ditched her date) who at long last locked lips. But what was the big news that Ray had to tell her?
Next week looks better than ever, as the drama hits an all time high. It looks like Ellen lets some information slip to Dylan, while Paval contemplates moving to Brussels with Dr Jack. Jojo also appears to be set to elope with Dylan. Will there be any cast members left for the remaining few episodes?
Definitely one for your TV diaries!
