Linda hastily arranges a surprise party for Mick after realising that she has forgotten his birthday, leaving Shirley unimpressed. As the day continues, Linda struggles without alcohol and she ends up giving into temptation when she's supposed to be looking after Ollie. Mick is upset to find Ollie alone as Linda has been drinking. Later, Linda makes peace with Sharon when they see each other at the Prince Albert. Sharon confides her fears about Keanu, but Linda drunkenly tells her that he's alive.
Elsewhere, Ian tries to drum up votes for the election, while Daniel and Jean stay one step ahead of Rainie and Stuart.
Meanwhile, Rainie tries to cause trouble for Jean and Daniel, while Ian tries to convince Ruby to let him use the club for his election winner's party.
Later in the week, Linda tries to blame Mick for her drunken behaviour last night as they argue. Shirley also finds Linda's hidden stash. Things get worse for the Carters when Ollie's school calls, explaining that they've spoken to a social worker as he's clearly struggling at home.
Also, Sonia takes matters into her own hands, while things are tense as Patrick meets Isaac for the first time, but the situation improves when they get to know each other.
