This week on Fair City, Orla warns Wayne to get over his jealousy of Tommy. Wayne’s humiliation grows as Tommy overhears Orla berating him about his insecurities.
Later, Wayne and Orla’s moment of fun with Junior is interrupted by Tommy’s arrival. In order to get Doug to cut Wayne some slack at work she tells him about the IVF treatment. Wayne rips into Orla for making him look weak in front of Doug.
Later, Wayne feels sidelined when a preoccupied Orla rejects his comfort, while Orla is grateful for Tommy’s positivity. Wayne is devastated when Orla and Tommy receive the good news without him. Wayne questions the solidity of his marriage as Orla becomes increasingly angry at his attitude.
Wayne and Orla hide their hurt as they both agree it would be better if Wayne didn’t attend the clinic. Wayne can show his emotions when Orla reveals the embryo transfer was successful.
Elsewhere, Melanie is surprised by Paul’s act of kindness towards Alex. Melanie finds the atmosphere grim as Paul fires Callum in front of Ruth.
Melanie is concerned about Paul’s motives as he interferes in her family. Alex accuses Melanie of rudeness when she instructs him not to accept anymore favours from Paul. She makes it up to Alex by agreeing to dinner with Paul, but she causes a scene as she refuses to let Paul pay for dinner.
Cristiano notes Will’s dislike of Damien playing happy families. Mairead is put out when Will suggests Damien is only interested in her for her ready-made family. Cristiano tries to reassure Will that Damien is a welcome change in their lives.
