As Marlon and April are decorating the Christmas tree, Marlon gets an idea to spell out the words 'I love you' in lights for his girlfriend Jessie.
However, when Jessie returns to the house and sees his declaration, she runs off in a panic, leaving Marlon feeling wounded.
Jessie feels she owes Marlon an explanation and tells him she has never really moved on from her first husband who died suddenly when she was pregnant with their son.
Marlon is understanding, and agrees to help Jessie scatter her late husband's ashes in a bid for her to gain some kind of closure.
Leanna and Gabby have been trying to split up Bernice and Liam, and Leanna cruelly tells Bernice that the dress she's planning to wear to the gala isn't suitable. In a tizzy, Bernice rushes into town and hastily picks out an unflattering red ballgown.
When she arrives into the Woolpack wearing the dress and a sparkly tiara she's mortified to realise that Leanna has stitched her up.
Liam is bemused to see her in the outfit, but when Bernice starts laying the blame on Leanna he springs to his daughter's defence. Ouch!
Meanwhile, a troubled Graham gets increasingly drunk and when he empties his drinks cabinet, he heads off to buy more alcohol. Megan spots him about to get into his car and prevents him from drink driving.
As they begin chatting, Graham misreads the situation and leans in for a kiss, leaving Megan shocked.
