Ray tries to prevent Hunter from telling Mel about his finding. While attempting to cover his tracks doesn't work, Ray realises that he'll have to tell Hunter the truth. Later, Mel is angry to find Hunter drinking at the E20. Hunter covers for Ray, who supplied him with the booze. Shortly afterwards, Ray continues to do so as soon as Mel's back is turned again.
Elsewhere, The Carters are burdened with more bad news – a man has given a statement confirming that he sold a gun to Mick. The bullet used to shoot Stuart also matches the weapon. When Linda pays another visit to Mick, he admits that he did consider killing Stuart on the night of the shooting, but continues to say he didn't do it.
At breaking point, Linda publicly severs all ties with Mick and leaves the prison. Once back at home, she tells her family that she now believes Mick is guilty and won't be standing by him anymore.
Meanwhile, a frustrated Shirley confronts Linda over her lack of loyalty to Mick. Not long afterwards, Linda exits and makes a call– but who is she making contact with? And what will happen when Linda comes back home to The Vic later on?
Also, Mel is starting to become wary of Ray, especially as he keeps receiving mysterious phone calls. Although Ray thinks he's managed to win Mel over, she later considers taking a peek inside his wallet.
