The doctor examines Jack's feet and asserts that he has ischaemia. The consultant breaks the news that it is spreading and tells a stunned Kevin they need to amputate Jack's foot.
Kevin is also angry at Sophie for wanting to sue the NHS and she apologises to Rana.
Elsewhere, an upset Kayla sits at Neil's hospital bed after he was beaten up by another inmate in prison. Ryan is suspicious when he bumps into Kayla in the hospital car park.
Word reaches Bethany and Craig that Neil has lost his appeal. As Bethany comforts Craig over being dumped, they are shocked when Kayla arrives and tells Craig she has made a terrible mistake and wants him back.
Meanwhile, Tim is concerned when Duncan asks Sally if she can fast-track some of the funds as he has found a good deal on some equipment for the hospital.
When Tim voices his suspicions to Steve, they agree to check Duncan out. At his office, they are shocked to find the place empty.
