Paul and Oisin lock horns as Paul makes an effort with Ruth who is proving to be a handful. Paul eventually makes a breakthrough and is pleased when he and Oisin reach an understanding over Ruth. Paul is irritated when Niamh tries to contact him and blocks her out as he settles down to watch a DVD with his family.
Meanwhile, Niamh is intent on getting hold of Ruth's birth certificate and ropes in Orla to help her. Paul agrees to let Orla sort through Niamh's clothes but she is interrupted by Oisin. Orla is shocked to learn that Paul hasn't told Ruth that Niamh isn't coming home. She offers to help Paul with Ruth and is delighted when he gives her the keys to her house.
Later in the week, Carol turns down Robbie's offer of a coffee and Peter offers Damian more work.
