Peadar is really feeling the strain of caring for baby Nollaig and is exhausted. He drifts off to sleep, leaving the feverish child in serious danger. Tensions are heightened further when O’Shea delivers shocking newsabout the baby’s mother.
Lovelorn David decides to focus back on his work in Teaghlach when he meets Ronán, a troubled youngster on a downward spiral. David is determined to keep Ronán out of juvenile prison, but remains sceptical of Ronán.
Noreen is shocked when John Joe breaks the worrying news about Katy’s fertility but is quickly repulsed by Katy when she tries to offer her support. Katy makes it clear that she does not need her absent mother’s help, but seeing how affectionate Jason is with his son Cuan really hits home with Katy.
Katy is overwhelmed. When her parents indicate they are willing to sacrifice everything they have to pay for her expensive egg-freezing procedure, she reluctantly agrees to treatment. As Pádraig highlights the reality of the procedure, she is terrified and begins to reconsider.
Peadar and Máire are horrified to discover that the woman claiming to be Nollaig’s mother is a fraud. When they discover photographs of themselves and Nollaig online, the blame is placed on Vince for attracting the imposter. Little do they know that all signs point to Caitríona.
David is determined to keep Ronán on the right path and convinces Mícheál and Labhrás to give the troubled youngster a second chance in his job at the Ionad Pobail. David proudly watches him as he cashes up, thrilled to see him turning his life around.
