Grainne Webb has serious fears that Laser is going to do some damage

Grainne demands McKay rehouse herself and daughter Chloe - it’s only a matter of time before Laser harms them. The Kielys are devastated to learn that the DPP have accepted Michael Hennessy’s request for a manslaughter plea. Preoccupied by the bad news Vinnie ignores calls from work and Rory consoles an upset Katie.

Abandoned by his mother and under threat from Laser Byrne, Davey Webb seeks protection at McKay’s apartment. McKay can’t refuse, he is all Davey has left and feels completely responsible for his safety. Claire insists that McKay shows Davey the door, they are risking both their careers  – she is his advising solicitor and he is a superintendent acting without authorisation.

Davey is furious when McKay suggests he go back to Galway until everything dies down. He wouldn’t be in this mess if McKay hadn’t convinced him to be his informant. Laser’s thugs have killed his dog, his sister is in hospital, his mother thinks he is a rat and his house has been burnt down. McKay persuades Davey to get on the train but when he doesn’t arrive in Galway, McKay’s worst fears may have come true – has Laser finally gotten his hands on him?

Patricia is devastated when she discovers that Michael’s court date has been brought forward. He’s due to be sentenced in less than a week, this could be the first Christmas the family will spend separated. Patricia cannot bear the thought of being without her son on the occasion and decides to have an early Christmas dinner. Michael deserves a proper send-off before he learns of his fate.
