Just as Mack convinces Mo to throw a party in their place, David pays them a surprise visit. David tells them he has been dumped by Alanna and is home for good. Mack assures him there will be a spring in his step after the party tonight.
When Eimear is away Peigí takes credit for Eimear’s cooking to impress Eoin. Máire pays a visit and gives Eimear a hard time for going to work and leaving Eoin and Peigi alone. Peigí cannot hide her smugness. John Joe plans to spoil Katy with a surprise gift to mark her first real job. Katy yearns for her father’s undivided attention. Her jealousy of her sister Deirdre continues to build and Poor John Joe finds it hard to handle his two daughter. Despite his affection John Joe cannot win with Katy.
Peigí is determined to ruin Eoin and Eimear’s chance at marriage. Continuing to meddle in Eoin’s plans, she uses his state of mind before the liver transplant operation implying he wasn’t thinking straight. Eoin agrees with her but only to suggest that he’s going to make an even grandeur proposal to Eimear now that the operation has been a success. Peigí is dumbfounded that her plans are backfiring how will she put a stop to the marriage.
Evan is struggling with his college course. His anxiety builds and he opens up to Bobbi Lee but he cannot bring himself to tell Berni how he feels as he can’t disappoint his mother. Jason simply can’t face being best man to Eoin and Eimear, it’s just too soon after Lee’s death, his emotions are too raw.
