This week in Chester, Phoebe puts herself in danger, while Joe plans to commit arson.
Phoebe goes to pay Trevor for Vincent's passport, but ends up being bundled into the back of his van and held hostage.
Meanwhile, having received a wreath with the note "RIP Lynsey", Browning is haunted by thoughts of his murder victim. At one point he thinks he sees Lynsey in his office, but it turns out to be the new Lindsey. Later, Browning confronts Mercedes, certain she's behind these games.
Elsewhere, The McQueens are shocked to find a beaten and bloodied Ste on their doorstep with a sack over his head. Ste tells them that if Trevor doesn't get what he wants, he'll kill Vincent and then come to find the rest of them. The McQueens decide to flee, until Browning comes up with a plan B - fake Jacqui's death.
Later in the week, Freddie tracks Lindsey down at the family planning clinic and tries to convince her to reconsider or at least tell Joe. Will Freddie's words resonate with Lindsey, or has she already made up her mind?
Also, Joe is ready to carry out an insurance scam to solve the Roscoes' financial problems once and for all. He announces to the family that they're having a party that night, but what he really wants is an alibi.
Later, Joe acts drunk and climbs out of his window when Sandy sends him to bed. He then heads to the garage and splashes petrol around the family business - can he really go through with this?
