This week on The Square, Sharon struggles after her split from Jack, while Janine makes a shock return.
Ian and Tanya call over to Phil to ask where Sharon is, but he tells a fib and pretends that she has gone to Norfolk. However, when Kim sees Phil buying shampoo at the Minute Mart she takes a guess that Sharon is staying in his. Kim tells Denise, Ian and Tanya about her big discovery and the full gang decide to visit Sharon. Ian digs a big hole for himself when he lets it slip that Kim thinks she is hiding out because she feels guilty. Sharon feels it's necessary to go back to work to put an end to the rumours.
Elsewhere, Lauren tells Max that she isn't prepared to keep hiding Kirsty's secret, so he promises to tell Tanya the truth. Soon afterwards, Lauren joins Lucy, Whitney, Tyler and Joey for lunch in The Vic, but they're all left red-faced when she consumes far too much alcohol. Joey tells Lauren that he can't keep watching her do this to herself and makes a swift exit.
Meanwhile, Janine makes a surprise return to The Square. Kat instantly quizzes Janine on her whereabouts over the past few months. However, as Kat continues to stick up for Michael, Janine makes a mean remark about Tommy.
Once Kat has left, tensions are running high between Janine and Michael. Janine says that she's back in business, but Michael doesn't believe her and he doesn't want her anywhere near little Scarlett. Janine admits that while she has been with other men, she still feels alone and empty.
Later in the week, Tanya confronts Max and asks him why he didn't tell her about Kirsty's pregnancy. Max comes clean and admites that it's because he doesn't think things have completely fizzled with Tanya. Max insists that Kirsty is having an abortion. Will he be able to win Tanya back?
