This week on the cobbles Tina and Tommy are coming to blows over her surrogacy as she is forced to make a concrete decision about whether she will go through with it. At the same time, Kylie and David are going through family issues as David is pushing extending their family on Kylie, while she secretly takes birth control pills.
Tommy continues to struggle with Tina’s pregnancy and just when he should be getting used to it, he’s still got a grudge. As whispers travel along the cobbles, Tommy finds himself being congratulated about his pending arrival, which frustrates him further. Tina is also torn between her relationship and responsibility to Izzy and Gary. She turns to Rita for advice, and is forced to make a final decision that she will be able to live with.
David organises a romantic hotel stay for himself and Kylie so they can have some privacy, but when she gets roped in to working he is devastated. However, it works out for the best as Nick is impressed with Kylie handling of the added pressure and promotes her to assistant manager. She confides in Eva that she is taking birth control, and soon Gail finds out as well. They have a heart to heart and Gail supports her but urges her to tell David. She is furious at him promising Max a sibling, getting his hopes up.
David and Kylie have a row after she confesses she doesn’t want a baby, and he finds himself at Tina’s to apologise for telling people about her pregnancy. She opens up about the surrogacy, while he confides in her about his own baby problems. Tina insists she is going through with the pregnancy for the sole purpose of genuinely wanting to help Gary and Izzy.
Elsewhere, Dennis gets himself a new job, but he wants to keep it very quiet. Steve rumbles him by catching him out in his new job as lollipop man outside the school. Steve has the upper hand but agrees to keep quiet. However, the two have another run-in and soon Dennis’ superior is looking for answers, in front of all of Dennis’ friends.
Leanne informs Simon that Peter probably won’t be home for Christmas, as she received a grovelling letter. Simon is disheartened but Nick offers a silver lining, giving Simon and Leanne the opportunity to take a trip to Disneyland. Leanne is thrown when Nick suggests stopping off in Las Vegas for a quick wedding ceremony.
Meanwhile, Kirsty is none the wiser to Tyrone’s plans as he books the church for their wedding. Chesney calls him out for humiliating sister Fiz, but Tyrone acts very strange in order to deflect anyone hearing their spat. Fiz goes back to the factory to ask for her job back, but when Michelle consults Kirsty about it, will she take the opportunity to further make Fiz’s life hell?
