On Coronation Street, Stella lays into Karl, telling him they need a loan to consolidate their debts, which they’ll be paying off for years. Karl vows to ask Steve for his job back, but when Peter confesses that he turned up at the bookies instead it’s too much for Stella to take.
Stella throws him out, but Karl later returns to the pub with a wad of cash having sold his most valuable possession, a signed football shirt, leaving Stella in turmoil. Having left the pub, Karl breaks down in Sunita’s arms as she listens to his woes. As Sunita comforts him he draws her in for a kiss. Will she respond? Meanwhile, Stella decides to give Karl a second chance, but will she catch them in the act?
Tommy and Tina are on cloud nine having finally admitted their feelings for each other. When Tommy gets a call telling him Geoff left him thousands in his will, he decides to use his inheritance to woo his girl with a round-the-world trip.
Carla tells Sally she'd be happy for her to become her business partner when Frank's shares are sold. Sally's over the moon as she shares her news with Kevin.
Elsewhere, David brags to Audrey that he’s got a new job at a posh salon in town. However, he has bent the truth as he is being treated like a dogsbody at the salon, sweeping floors rather than styling hair.
When Kylie arrives at the salon to visit David, she’s shocked to see he’s a junior and is determined to show what he can do. She insists she wants him to cut her hair, and David’s boss is impressed when he does a good job. However, when Kylie hands over her bank card to pay and the boss sees the name Platt, he realises he’s been had and orders David back to sweeping.
A row erupts and David ends up getting sacked. Kylie’s furious about what Audrey’s driven him to, and the pair come up with a plan that leaves Audrey floored!
