The middle of five children, 21-year-old Sarah lives in Washington DC, and is studying French and Communication Studies at Christopher Newport University. Her Irish roots are spread between Armagh, Monaghan and Kerry.
A competitive Irish dancer, her love of dance inspired her parents to partake as well. Growing up, her father was in the military so she lived 'all over the world'.
Seeing different cultures first hand gave Sarah a love for diversity, and she has volunteered to work with the Salesian Mission in Camden, New Jersey, to help underprivileged youth and the homeless.
She has also volunteered at Camp Rainbow, for underprivileged girls who could not afford to attend camp during the summer.
Sarah would like to join the Peace Corps after graduation in order to help create sustainable educational programmes for children in Third World countries.
While in high school, she created the Irish Culture club for her old primary school where she taught students about Irish history, culture, and Irish dancing.
