New Jersey-born Rebecca Phipps moved to North Carolina for college and says she still has "some of that Yankee blood running through my veins". Her Irish roots can be traced back to her great-great-great grandfather, who emigrated to the US in 1867.
Away from work and her love of volleyball, Rebecca says she can usually be found "sleeping or at the beach, or sleeping at the beach". Describing herself as "quite shy" and "dreading your typical small talk", she says that once she lets her defences down she can turn into "the biggest goofball" and will talk for as long as she is allowed!
"This will be my first time in Ireland, and I am so excited that my first time will be as a Rose, and I truly hope I can represent North Carolina to the absolute best of my abilities."
